A successful day for Gravity Fuelled Motorsport at the Brands Hatch Race Circuit

On the 20th August, the Northern Commercials branded Juno driven by Graham Charman raced around The Brands Hatch Race Circuit in the BRSCC ZEO Prototype Series. Northern Commercials sponsored motorsports team Gravity Fuelled Motorsport had an excellent day of racing, featuring a 3rd place finish in the first race and a 1st place win in the second race. 

BRSCC (British Racing and Sports Car Club) is one of the major organisers of motorsport events and racing within the United Kingdom. Featuring over 35 race meeting and 25 championships, the BRSCC has played a key role in British Motor racing for over 75 years. The ZEO Prototype endurance races featuring some of the fastest and intense racing available at the BRSCC due to the high-level Sports prototypes cars, including Graham Charman’s Juno which featured our very own Northern Commercials branding on the vehicle. 

The first race featured some drama for Graham as the first racing lap nearly featured Graham spinning out after an eager turn before the tyres were up to optimum temperature, all exciting stuff at 225kph. After suffering contact with another racer, knocking Graham into the grass approaching Graham Hill Bend, as well as nursing the fuel surge, Graham managed an impressive 3rd place finish.

The starting positions for the second race are decided on each driver’s second fastest qualifying time, resulting in a 3rd place start on the grid for Gravity Fuelled Motorsports. This was followed by a successful start which helped him race ahead alongside Pole Position car of Mike Jenvey in the early stages of the the race. Graham took the lead before noticing a yellow flag, which was followed later by a red flag drawing the race to a close with Graham at the front. After Clerk of the Course interview and video evidence from Graham’s in-car footage, he retains the outright race win. 

An excellent day out for all involved and a wide showcase of skill and talent from every racer on the day.
