Brighouse based commercial vehicle company, Northern Commercials, has introduced a range of flexible financing options in a bid to help hauliers in the region.
The logistics industry has been hard hit by the recession, resulting in a hike in fuel tax and further increases are anticipated for 2011. In September 2009, according to RoadTransport.com fuel duty prices were 56.19ppl, increasing to 58.19ppl in October this year and expected to rise to 61.66ppl by April 2011. An additional increase in tax and VAT in early 2011 will all have a lasting effect on hauliers and fuel prices.
Across Yorkshire and the North West, a number of haulage firms have folded due to hard times in the recession, primarily due to the constant strain in fuel prices.
In an effort to ease the strain on hauliers, Northern Commercials has a number of offers to help reduce costs elsewhere and to manage the financing troubles in the Yorkshire. Not only do Northern Commercials sell new and used vehicles but the company also work hard to ensure its vehicles are as economical as they can be, with regular servicing options.
Northern Commercials hope to source more environmentally friendly vehicles where possible. One of its latest offers is for the new 7-Tonne Iveco Eco-Daily Van, which reduces total emissions by 60%, as well as having more capacity than the smaller vans already available. This results in fewer vehicles on the road, cutting environment pollution as well as contributing to a reduction in fuel costs.
Sales and Marketing Director at Northern Commercials, John Bullock, said: “In uncertain times it pays for businesses to work together. We have looked at our business and identified ways in which we can become more flexible to accommodate customers. After all it pays in the long run for us all to support the wider industry during the current difficult trading conditions.”
