The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has warned operators that from the 1st July 2012 anyone driving a motorised vehicle in or through France will be required to carry a single-use disposable breathalyser kit.
The aim is to reduce drink driving problems in the country. Drink driving was responsible for around 4,000 deaths in 2011. the new scheme will enable drivers to tesr themselves before driving to make sure they are not over the legal limit.
Enforcement fines for not carrying one will come into effect on the 1st November 2012.
