Jack Hadfield, apprentice at the Brighouse based Fiat and Iveco Commercial dealership, Northern Commercials, has won the Heavy Vehicle Apprentice of the Year Award.
Jack began his career two years ago when he enrolled on to a KITS learning programme that would see his time being split between the training centre and an apprenticeship at Northern Commercials. The Kirkdale Industrial Training Services enables apprentices to receive training on a variety of equipment that they would find within the workshop environment, along with the opportunity to gain a range of qualifications along the way.
The fully resourced workshops include state of the art fault diagnostic boards, these support the electrical training by simulating a variety of real faults that trainees can use to improve their diagnostic techniques.
The auto electrician apprentice has gained a great understanding and knowledge of the heavy good products from his time at Northern Commercials and KITS and has gone from strength to strength within his role. Due to an early completion of his qualification, Jack has been out of college for almost 12 months, therefore the award win came as an extremely pleasant surprise.
The NVQ level 3 Auto Electrician commented: “It feels great to get recognition for the work I’ve put in over these years. The training at KITS has taught me a lot, the tutors have been first class. I would like to thank Northern Commercials especially, because without them I’d never have gotten to this stage”.
Andrew Gibbons, Service Manager at Northern Commercials also commented: “Over these last couple of years he has worked extremely hard and is always willing to do that little bit extra. His enthusiastic mind set has helped him problem solve some of the most task full of jobs. I’m very proud of Jack receiving this award and it just goes to show that hard work definately pays off. Well done Jack!”
