Northern Commercials are the proud new suppliers of the Fiat Doblo Platform Cab to Jiffy Trucks Ltd

The Fiat Doblo Platform cab was the vehicle of choice for Jiffy Trucks Ltd, when the time came to decide on a small base vehicle they could build their catering bodies on over the coming years. Jiffy has been building their prestigious bodies in West Yorkshire for over 40 years. Jiffy’s MD, John Briggs said “we needed to find a manufacturer who was more commercially focused, and could give our end users a great after sales and service experience” Fiat commercial live in the commercial world, with night shift servicing etc, just what our mutual customers need, downtime is unacceptable in the food delivery business”. Brighouse based Northern Commercials were happy to help with an extensive Fiat Professional range available, they could offer a product that met the needs of the Jiffy Trucks market in the shape of the Fiat Doblo Platform Cab.

Jiffy Trucks Ltd ordered a Fiat Doblo Platform cab as a prototype, the body was designed, built and finally type approved by the VCA. The Doblo proved to be the perfect base vehicle for them to build their temperature controlled snack trucks on. The Euro 6 models come complete with a 105bhp 1.6L diesel engine, Radio/CD/MP3 and USB, External temperature sensors and 120A Alternators.

The Doblo is now available and in full production at Jiffy, its known as the Jiffy Ricetta.

Jiffy Trucks Ltd has seen the food to the workplace market grow as a result of a change in customer behaviours and a lack of people visiting the high street. Jiffy Trucks have been supplying the industry for more years than John would care to remember, he said “we are very happy with the Doblo, it’ll suit the smaller body perfectly, has ample payload and gives the operator the aftersales service they deserve”

The new deal will see Northern Commercials supply in the region of 30 Fiat Doblo Platform cabs a year for conversion, a deal that isn’t anything new to the dealership, who have specialised in sales, service and parts for over 4 decades. Northern Commercials workshop offer a 24 hour operation, so suit the snack food operation perfectly.
