In the realm of electric vehicles, IVECO continues to push boundaries with its latest innovation: the IVECO eDaily ‘Mobile Power Station’. Recently unveiled at the 2024 Commercial Vehicle show, this groundbreaking vehicle promises to redefine the way we think about electric power in commercial settings.
Building on the success of previous models like the record-breaking IVECO eDaily of 2023, the Mobile Power Station represents a significant leap forward in electric vehicle technology. At the heart of its design lies an innovative modular battery setup, coupled with an unrivalled up to 50kW ePTO onboard power system. This combination not only offers impressive performance but also opens up a world of possibilities for operators.
One of the key features of the IVECO eDaily is its ability to power heavy-duty equipment and bodies, including compactors, fire-fighting gear, road maintenance machinery, and gully cleaners. This versatility means that operators can now embrace electric vehicles without compromising on power or functionality.
At the heart of the Mobile Power Station is a 4.25-tonne eDaily equipped with three batteries and a 15kW high-voltage ePTO. This setup enables the van to serve as a portable power station, capable of charging smart devices, laptops, and even powering TV screens. But the innovation doesn’t stop there—show attendees can also test their skills on a giant buzz wire game powered entirely by the vehicle.
Throughout the year, the Mobile Power Station will make appearances at various events, showcasing the capabilities of ePTO power to operators and enthusiasts alike. With options for 50kW, 15kW, and even mechanical ePTO configurations, the IVECO eDaily offers unmatched versatility for a wide range of applications.
Despite its electric credentials, the IVECO eDaily retains the ruggedness and durability that operators have come to expect. With a class-leading towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes and a payload of up to 4.6 tonnes, this EV is ready to tackle even the toughest jobs. And thanks to its 4.25-tonne derogation, it can be driven with a standard Category B driving licence in the UK.
Whether it’s one, two, three or even four modular batteries, the IVECO eDaily offers operators the flexibility they need to get the job done. With a variety of body styles and derivatives available, there’s an eDaily for every mission.
Mike Cutts, IVECO UK Light Business-line Director, said:
“The 50kW ePTO is by far the most capable on the market. The Mobile Power Station vehicle has been built to showcase this ePTO power, with operators already using the option to complete demanding missions.”
The IVECO eDaily’s Mobile Power Station represents a bold step forward in the evolution of electric vehicles. With its innovative design, unparalleled performance, and unmatched versatility, it’s poised to lead the charge into a cleaner, greener future for commercial transportation.
